Among the lush hills of Holmes County, shrouded, quiet patios begin to peek out of the greenery. Since 1988, the Honeycomb rooms at Millersburg’s Inn at Honey Run have been enticing visitors with their unique design and quiet atmosphere.
This year, the Inn at Honey Run completely renovated these iconic rooms in partnership with Homestead Furniture, another Holmes County favorite. The overhaul of the rooms began in January 2026 and was led by inn proprietor Jason Nies, its director of design Jordan Calame and Homestead Furniture creative director LaVern Hershberger.
“My vision [for the Honeycombs] was just new furniture and pretty rooms,” Nies says. “Laverne took this to a whole new level when he created the individual room types, and every piece was custom made. The care and elevation they put into it was just beyond anything I ever dreamed.”
Each of the 12 Honeycombs has a distinct design style and is furnished with custom handmade Homestead pieces that complement that theme. Room designs include the transitional style Meridian Room, the tradition-rooted Parlor Room and the midcentury-modern Icon Room. Each Honeycomb room has a QR code where overnight guests can learn about each piece of furniture and how it fits into the style and theme.
“Honey Run is this magical, spiritual place that people come to for renewal, for rest, for reconnection,” Nies says, “every [room] gives you that opportunity to blend the beauty of what man has created with what God has created in nature outside.” 6920 County Rd. 203, Millersburg 44654, 330/674-0011, innathoneyrun.com
